One Hope
In One Hope, we find our purpose in following Christ. As part of the Christian Reformed Church, we believe that Jesus alone, by His grace, saves us from sin. Our mission is to move people toward Him. We also recognize that the younger generation is not only our future but also our hope to continue the work of bringing the Gospel to the lost. Our commitment lies in living out God’s Word, seeking restoration to His likeness, and glorifying Him in all we do. Through three key ministries, we seek to bring them up in the Word of God to carry on that hope.

Children’s Ministry: Fostering a strong foundation in faith for our youngest members through age-appropriate teaching and activities. community, dedicated to nurturing and guiding children in their faith journey. Here are some key aspects:
Purpose: Children’s ministry exists to bring children to Jesus, helping them become more like Him over time. It involves a series of intentional actions, starting with inviting children to connect with Jesus and His story. As grace and the glory of Jesus are revealed, children grow in their understanding and love for Him1.
Leadership Roles:
Children’s Ministry Director or Coordinator: Responsible for planning and developing Bible learning programs for all age levels. This role involves recruiting leaders, coordinating training, overseeing supplies, and ensuring safety policies are followed.
Teachers and Leaders: These volunteers engage directly with children, teaching them biblical truths, organizing activities, and fostering spiritual growth.
Digital Communication Manager: In today’s digital age, managing communication channels (websites, social media, newsletters) is crucial for reaching parents and children effectively.
Training and Support: Regular training sessions and team meetings help equip leaders, address challenges, and encourage spiritual growth. Expressing appreciation and building a sense of teamwork are essential.
Remember, Children’s Ministry is about bringing children to Jesus so they can be utterly, exclusively, and uncompromisingly His.
Youth Ministry: Nurturing and equipping young believers through engaging programs, Bible studies, and mentorship.
Youth ministry, also known as youth group, is an age-specific religious ministry within faith groups or other religious organizations. Its mission is to involve and engage young people who attend their places of worship or live in their community. Here are some key aspects of youth ministry:
Meaningful Relationships: Youth ministries exist to establish meaningful relationships between mature adult believers and students. These relationships help students grow in their relationship with the Lord. Research shows that students who have multiple adult believers intentionally investing in their lives are more likely to stay connected to the church and flourish in their faith, even after high school. In a healthy youth ministry, students are known beyond face and facts, and adult volunteers strive to understand their feelings, fears, and faith1.
Intentional Programming: Youth ministry goes beyond mere entertainment or social gatherings. It creates intentional opportunities for students to grow closer to Jesus Christ. These intentional programs can include reaching lost students, helping students grow in faith, and equipping them to use their gifts in the church and the world. Every aspect of ministry programming should tie back to the overall mission of the youth ministry, ensuring that events and activities serve a purpose beyond casual hangout time1.
Remember, youth ministry plays a crucial role in nurturing young hearts, fostering discipleship, and building a strong foundation for lifelong faith.
GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour) is a Christian organization run by volunteers, specifically designed for girls aged 9 to 15 (with some groups including a program called Busy Bees for girls ages 6 to 8). At GEMS, girls actively and enthusiastically learn about God through various activities. These include Bible studies, badge work, crafts, games, and outings. Our vision is to equip and encourage girls to express love for God and others, nurturing their faith and spiritual growth1.
Cadets is another Christian youth program run by volunteers, targeted at boys aged 9 to 14. Through Cadets, boys engage in Bible studies, participate in badge work, explore crafts, enjoy games, and go on outings. The goal is to help boys live for Jesus in all aspects of life, encouraging them to discover and develop their God-given abilities while serving Him and others12.
These programs provide an excellent opportunity for outreach, witness, and service within your congregation and local community. They also foster leadership development and meaningful connections between children, parents, and the church family.
